    Preparing For The Trip

In Florida, the voltage is 110 V which is much lower than in many countries. Furthermore, sockets are likely to be shaped differently than the sockets found throughout Europe. Therefore, if you want to bring your own appliances (ie. blowdryer, hair straighteners, phone charger, laptop etc.) you should also bring an adaptor, or voltage convertor, which will enable you to safely plug foreign appliances in. Some newer appliances can convert directly between voltages, such as laptops and phone chargers, but the shape of the plug is not adapted to the sockets so you will still need an adapter that will fit into the electrical sockets found in Florida. Regardless, rest assured that Villa Tropicana will have most of the appliances you’ll need for a comfortable stay since it is our aim to make you feel as though you’re at a home away from home!
Healthcare is excellent in the US, although it is expensive, even for Americans. This is why it is strongly advisable to subscribe to a health insurance for the trip. You can also bring with you a first aid kit or buy readily available medication at any drugstore, such as Duane Reade, Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid, sone of wich are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Villa Tropicana is located in a gated community, so as to ensure the best security for our guests. The region of Orlando is safe, however like in any other metropolitan area, tourists need to be careful not to leave anything valuable in their car, especially rental cars.

Afer we have received full payment, we will email you the electronic access code to the villa, information on how to get there and other useful information.
Central Florida is a year-round destination, due to its mild climate and the ongoing operation of the theme parks, golf courses and other attractions.

In December, January and February temperatures are usually pleasant and sunny. The temperatures are in the higher 60s and lower 70s. However, there can be occasional cold spells and the nights are cool. Make sure to bring a light jacket and sweater.

The summer months (May through September) are hot and hot and humid. Air conditioning is a must for most people.
